How Much Wolfworthy to Feed Your Senior Dog (7 years+)Updated 17 days ago
As dogs reach 7 years old, their metabolism slows, meaning they need fewer calories to maintain a healthy weight. Without adjusting their food intake, they may gradually gain weight. To keep your senior dog in great shape, we recommend using our feeding calculator and selecting the Senior 7+ years option.
How Much to Feed a Senior Dog?
- The amount to feed is based on your dog's weight.
- If your dog is overweight or underweight, feed according to their ideal weight rather than their current weight. If you're unsure, please get in touch, and we can help.
- We recommend feeding twice a day, ideally around 8 hours apart if possible.
- Start at the lower end of the range – most older dogs do well here, but active seniors may need more.
- If your dog eats treats, chews, or human food, reduce the Wolfworthy portion to balance the extra calories.
